Image
Day 1: Started from Frisco - TX Stopover and a drive inside Palo Duro Canyon Drove to Colorado through New Mexico by night We had booked a hotel close to the sand dunes, but due to fire the road was closed and the hotel canceled our booking, so we took a hotel on the way and stayed there. Day 2: Since we couldn't go to sand dunes as initially planned, we visited Twin Lakes, Went on a road trip through the independence pass and visited Maroon Bells. We stayed in a hotel close to Maroon Bells Independence Pass - It gets very cold in the Pass the drive is beautiful and there is snow even in the July long weekend time.  Twin Lake - The entry to this lake is an honorary system, we pay in the self-pay kiosk in the entrance of the lake.  Maroon Bells has an entry restriction, the vehicles can be driven either early morning or late in the evening. This is the trip that installed the love of travel in us. After our marriage, I moved to Hartford and PK was working in New Hampshire, we traveled in weekends and meet each other. Our weekends were consumed in cooking, planning a day trip for Saturday, watching games, and getting ready for weekdays. We planned Rhode Island trip as one such day trip, even though it was officially still winter and none of the places were open, the trip was officially still a most enjoyed one.

Ellis Island

'Symbol of Hope’, THE ELLIS ISLAND, a 27.5-acre landmark with one renovated building the ‘immigration museum’ was once a 3-acre landmark, which served as a port of entry for millions of immigrants -  we visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island for the Memorial Day weekend and wanted to share what we learned there. Museums are not fun places to visit as an adult, I thought so when I stepped inside the island with a sense of boredom we just wanted to make sure that we are in a famous tourist spot, take few pictures and leave the island. Something unu sual happened, we went inside the theater and were waiting for the movie, when a lady stepped in and started explaining the story of the island. Something struck me heavily hearing the story. People who traveled to the United States those days where not skilled professionals like today. They were people who escaped from poverty, slavery, abuse, racism. The immigration officers in Ellis Island has used a special inspect...

If yes, is heaven according to you a place above the clouds, where things are pleasant, beautiful, peaceful, where people have only smiles on their faces? If that is how the real heaven looks like, then if anyone questions me if you have seen heaven, then I will boldly answer 'YES' I have been to heaven, in a 30 min 'MAID OF THE MIST' trip in Niagara. Standing before the horseshoe falls, experiencing the mist from the falls, all that you will see is the bubbles in the water, Mighty Falls, the clear green water, and the Rainbow in the Mist. At that very moment, I fell in love with my life, making me so lucky to be there and experience the mystery.   Niagara fall is not formed by a river, it is actually a part of two great lakes Lake Ontario and Lake Rye. Like any historic place Niagara has a tribal story for itself, the story of Lelawala, a tribal girl from Niagara, who was married ...
